When would you blur a face?
More often than you might think, your photos show more than your own family: classmates in the school picture, teammates at the match, bystanders in your holiday shots. If you want to post such a photo in a group chat or online, you really need permission from anyone recognisable — especially for other people's children.
Asking everyone for permission is not always practical. The pragmatic fix: make other people's faces unrecognisable and only share what is yours. That is exactly what this tool is for.
Automatic finding stays on your device too
Many blur tools send your photo to a server and let AI find the faces there. That is precisely what you don't want with these photos. Our detection therefore runs entirely locally: the model runs in your own browser and not a single pixel goes to us or to anyone else.
The model also only looks for where faces are — it does not recognise who they are. No identity is determined, nothing is stored or remembered. Rather have no analysis at all? Skip the button and point out the faces yourself; that always works.

How thorough is the blurring?
The tool uses a mosaic rather than a soft blur. Each selected area is replaced by coarse blocks of colour; the original pixels are no longer present in the file you download. A light blur that a filter can reverse is not what happens here.

Frequently asked questions
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The blurring happens entirely in your browser, on your own device. Your photo never leaves it — with recognisable faces in the frame, that is exactly how it should be.
Does this tool use face recognition?
No — it offers optional face detection, which is something else. If you click 'Find faces automatically', a model searches locally in your browser for where faces are; it does not recognise who they are, and nothing leaves your device. Don't use the button, and nothing is analysed at all.
Can the blurring be undone?
No. The mosaic replaces the pixels in the selected area with averaged blocks of colour; the original detail is no longer in the file you download. Your original stays untouched on your own device.
Which files are supported?
JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC (iPhone photos). Your download is a JPG — or a PNG if the original was one. Hidden metadata such as the GPS location is removed automatically when the file is saved.
