How do you create a trip folder?
When you create a new folder, pick the 'Trip folder' type. Everything you put in it is arranged by day and on a map on its own.
A trip folder shows your photos and videos as the trip the way you made it: a map with a short summary at the top, your days along a timeline below, from day one to the last day. Days without photos still count, so 'day five' really is the fifth day of your trip. There is nothing else to set up.
The place names come from the location your camera writes into the photo. Working out which place that is happens on our own servers in Europe, using a list of place names kept there locally. The coordinates from your photos never go to an outside map service, and we keep it at place level, not address level.
If you later share a photo from a trip folder, a small bar comes with it that leads to the whole trip view. More examples are in see your holiday photos on a map; to see which of your existing photos already carry a location, use the free photos on a map tool, right in your browser.
